God Bless Them

Our Indianola Historical Society and the county of Red Willow has lost members from the area. We wish to give our condolence to their families. They will be missed by many and will always be remembered for who they were. God bless them all.

Cliff Lord passed away September 21, 2010. Cliff was a member of our I.H.S. and a wonderful person that everyone around thought very much of. No one gave more to Indianola than Cliff did. To him Indianola was truely The Best Little City Out West. God bless him.

Garnet Houghtelling McConville passed away on July 5, 2009. Garnet was a member of our I.H.S. and a great lady who would always say hi with a smile.

Raymond Kircher passed away August 18, 2009. Ray was a member of our I.H.S. He was restorer of cars and helped me do the same. I’ll always remember his humor and his stories

Lyle and Margie Bergin both passed away this last year in Canon City Colorado where they were living close to their children David and Janet. We all knew both of them well and will always remember them both. David and Janet gave Margies memorial money to our Historical Society because they knew it would make her happy. Thank you both.

Orville Stewart passed away March 5, 2010. There was never a kinder man in this world. Lots of us had Orville do carpentry work for us and will think of him often.

Dennis Mihm passed away April 29, 2010. He and his wife Mary are members of out Historical Society. Dennis fought a long battle and never complained.

Joy Dow passed away October 27, 2010. Joy will be remembered for her since of humor and her laugh. She brought many happy times to us her were lucky enough to know her.

Orville Fritsch, 94, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at his residence in McCook. He was a past member to out society and had fantastic stories of his life here in Indianola. He was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Indianola, Nebraska, the son of the late William Alfred and Cora Belle (Thompson) Fritsch. Orville grew up in Indianola and graduated from Indianola High School in 1935. It was a pleasure to know him.

Howard Roth of Indianola, Nebraska, passed away Feb. 22, 2012, at his home at the age of 89. Howard was a member of the IHS and loved history. He was a very gentle nice man.

Thelma Blume Pickett passed away April 8 2012 in Miami Oklahoma. Thelma was a member of the IHS and donated some things that her late husband Jerrell (Jelly Bean) had. She was a wonderful person from a wonderful family and will be missed by all that knew her.
